Hello and welcome to the Into The Music blog — a little space for me (Giorgos) to share what’s happening behind the scenes, what I’m working on, and some thoughts along the way.

Thanks to new funding from Creative Scotland, we’re getting ready to open our doors again every Friday for another run of free music workshops for children and young people with learning disabilities and additional support needs living in Edinburgh and the Lothians. Over the next months, I’ll be developing new instruments, making our space even more adaptable, and continuing to learn from the brilliant young people and families who take part.

The sessions will be facilitated by Pete Taylor and myself and will carry on being relaxed and participant-led — a place to explore sound, play together, and create music without rules or pressure.

I’ll also use this blog to share small updates, maybe a peek at the instruments in progress, or thoughts on how the project is growing. I hope that sharing my insights here might encourage others who share our vision to develop similar spaces for inclusive, accessible music-making in their own communities.
